The Southeast Missouri University Foundation received $3.86 million in private support in fiscal 1999, the second highest giving total in the past five years.
In 1987-1988, the foundation raised $5.77 million.
Wayne Davenport, vice president of university advancement and executive director of the foundation, said donations were higher than those in fiscal 1998 in three categories: businesses and corporations, private foundations and the dollar amount of employee matching gifts.
Business/corporate giving in the year that ended June 30 totaled $593,148, up 23.7 percent; private foundation grants totaled $53,377, up from $14,047 a year earlier; and matching gifts increased from $42,230 to nearly $54,000 in the recently ended fiscal year.
In fiscal 1999, Southeast graduates gave more than $1.23 million to the school. Non-alumni gave $1.96 million.
Gifts and gifts-in-kind to the Booster Club increased 6.5 percent lastyear to more than $480,000. Contributions and underwriting of KRCU-FM, Southeast's Public Radio affiliate station, increased 50 percent.
