The Southeast Missouri State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble, a band of 41 members, will tour St. Louis area schools Sunday through Wednesday.

High School; St. Jacob Junior High School in Troy, Ill.; McCluer North High School in Florissant; Hazelwood Central High School; Eureka High School; Lafayette High School in Ballwin; Horton-Watkins High School in Ladue; and Fox High School in Arnold.

As part of the tour, the ensemble also will present a joint concert with the Washington University Wind Ensemble at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The concert will be held in the St. Louis Art Museum in Forest Park. The performance repertoire will feature works by J.S. Bach, Percy Grainger, Robert Russell Bennett, Karl King, James Barnes, Michael Hennagin and P.D.Q. Bach.

The ensemble recently was selected through competitive auditions to perform at three conferences of the Missouri Music Educators Association. The group also will perform twice for the Southwestern Division Meeting of the College Band Directors National Association. The ensemble has premiered several new works for wind band and has presented the first American performances of works written by European composers.
