Southeast Missouri State University's Senior Learning Center is offering several courses this semester for senior citizens.
A swimming class will be offered Tuesday through May 9. Beginning classes will be offered Monday and Wednesday from noon to 1, and lap swimming will be available Monday through Thursday from noon to 1.
Classes will be held at Parker Pool. Cost for beginning swimming is $30 for two days per week. Lap swimming costs $20 for two days per week or $30 for three days per week.
Aquatics exercise classes will be offered Tuesday through May 10 at Parker Pool. Cost is $30 for two days per week or $40 for three days per week.
Beginner classes will be held from 11 to noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Intermediate classes will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday or from 1 to 2 p.m. those days. Plus aquatics will be offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. or from 2 to 3 p.m. on those days.
"Pep Up Your Life" emphasizes using exercise to help stay mentally as well as physically fit. Goals are improving strength, flexibility and endurance. Fee is $20 and the class meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 to 9 a.m. at Centenary Methodist Church. Classes will continue through May 15.
PACE (People with Arthritis Can Exercise) includes range of motion, muscle strength, endurance, body mechanics and relaxation techniques. Cost is $25 and the class meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Centenary Methodist Church. Classes will continue through May 15.
Line Dancing classes start March 18. Classes will meet from 2 to 3 p.m. at Parker Dance Studio on the Southeast Missouri State University campus. Cost is $20.
A personal fitness program will be offered at the Student Recreation Center on the Southeast campus. Access to all exercise machines, walking track and racquetball courts are included in the fee.
