The United Way Small Business Blitz resulted in donations of $8,694, nearly a $3,000 increase from last year's drive. The Blitz Drive, co-chaired by Angie Umfleet of Chap Arnold Insurance and Lisa Rodman of the Bank of Missouri, concluded recently with a celebration at Buffalo Wild Wings.

The Small Business Blitz is an annual event that enlists the help of the area's best sales and service professionals to educate them about the work of the United Way, offering them a chance to support the community by donating to the United Way.

The relationships between volunteers and small business owners make this approach a success.

The top three teams given special recognition were: The Rite Group (Copi-Rite), first-place team, $2,675; Montgomery Bank, second-place team, $1,300; and State Farm, third-place team, $1,152.
