Area Wide United Way volunteers will be soliciting money from small businesses Wednesday during the organization's annual blitz day.
About 70 United Way volunteers will be calling on businesses in the Cape Girardeau, Jackson and Scott City areas.
Rozan Bonsignore, co-chairman of the blitz day, hopes to raise $22,000 toward the campaign goal of $520,000.
The day begins with a breakfast at 8 a.m. at the Drury Lodge. After the breakfast, volunteers will begin calling on businesses.
Other chairmen of the blitz day activities are Janet Esicar, Mary Burton and Gale Dale.
