ANNA, Ill. -- Veterans will be admitted free to the Union County Fair Thursday.
"Thursday is Veterans Day at the Fair," said a spokesman for the fair, which is being held this week at the Union County fairgrounds here. "Any veteran showing a veterans organization membership card or wearing a veterans organization cap will be admitted free."
A championship rodeo, gospel music concert, mud bog, demolition derby, harness and mule racing are among events on the fair agenda this week, along with livestock and crop exhibits.
The gospel music concert will be held tonight at 8; the mud bog is set for Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; the demolition derby is Friday at 8 p.m.; and a racking horse show will be held Saturday at 6 p.m.
Harness and mule racing will be held this afternoon and Thursday and Friday afternoons.
