Undercover operation by SEMO Drug Task Force leads to the arrest of Stephen McCormick, 46, for trafficking over 165 grams of meth. McCormick faces multiple felony charges and a $30,000 bond.

The work of an undercover officer on the SEMO Drug Task Force led to the arrest of a drug dealer accused of selling at least 27 grams of methamphetamine on four occasions.

Stephen McCormick, 46, of Cape Girardeau, was charged with a Class B felony drug trafficking charge and two Class C felonies of delivering a controlled substance.

On four occasions between May and June 25, an officer bought 55 grams, 27 grams, 28 grams and 55 grams of methamphetamine. On June 25, officers executed a search warrant in a person’s basement and seized one gram of methamphetamine from McCormick.

McCormick, on supervised release from the Federal Bureau of Prisons according to a probable cause statement, is a prior drug offender and was issued a $30,000 bond by judge Frank Miller.
