Dr. Charles H. Cozean of Cape Girardeau and his brothers and sisters initiated the Learning Resources Center with a $100,000 contribution in memory of their parents, C.H. "Hugo" and Zelda Martin Cozean, who lived in Farmington.

Mineral Area College is seeking money for purchase of a computer to link the school's library with the Missouri Statewide Database. The database provides access to resource materials to be used by students, area professionals and community members.

The $25,000 donation by Union Electric will go toward purchase of the computerized system, which will cost approximately $70,000.
