MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Two women were arrested Tuesday after the manager of the Woodland Inn in Marble Hill found a methamphetamine pipe while cleaning one of the rooms and called police.
The Marble Hill Police Department later arrested Michelle R. Lewis, 36, and Chastity D. Abbitt, 31, on charges of possession of methamphetamine, less than 35 grams of marijuana and marijuana and methamphetamine paraphernalia.
Lewis and Abbitt reportedly checked into the inn after being in an accident on Highway 34 west the previous night.
Upon a search, two small bags of crystal methamphetamine were found in Lewis' back pocket, according to police reports. Abbitt also admitted to having methamphetamine.
Several items were found in the hotel room, including marijuana paraphernalia, according to reports.
Lewis gave consent to search her rental vehicle and the vehicle she had wrecked. Nothing was found in the vehicle. Lewis denied consent to search the wrecked vehicle after realizing she was being placed under arrest.
