A St. Louis man suffered serious injuries Monday evening in a crash in northern Scott County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported. Fred Noah, 68, was taken by helicopter to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment. Noah was driving southbound, exiting Interstate 55 when he failed to stop at a stop sign, the patrol reported. A St. Louis man suffered serious injuries Monday evening in a crash in northern Scott County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Fred Noah, 68, was taken by helicopter to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.

Noah was driving southbound, exiting Interstate 55 when he failed to stop at a stop sign, the patrol reported. His 1989 Mazda hit the side of a 2005 Honda driven by Amanda Scherer, 24, of Scott City, causing severe damage to both vehicles.

Scherer was west bound on Highway 77 at the time of the accident, which occurred about 1 mile west of Benton, the patrol reported.
