Three people were injured in two traffic accidents in Cape Girardeau County on Saturday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Deborah Vance, 33, of Jackson was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau after she was injured in a 1:30 a.m. accident on U.S. 61 three miles north of Jackson. The patrol said Vance suffered moderate injuries.

The patrol cited Vance for driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and not wearing a seat belt.

The second accident occurred at 12:54 p.m. on Interstate 55 at the 102 mile marker, three miles north of Cape Girardeau.

Nicole Jackson, 15, and Amia Jackson, 1, both of Cape Girardeau, were transported by ambulance to Southeast Missouri Hospital with minor injures, the patrol said. They were passengers in a southbound car driven by Frankie Roark, 21, of Cape Girardeau.

The accident occurred when Roark's car ran into the rear of a car driven by James Pringle, 59, of Cape Girardeau, the patrol said. Pringle had slowed his vehicle because of an earlier accident in the area. The patrol said citations are pending.
