SIKESTON, Mo. - Sikeston police have released the names of two Sikeston teens charged in Tuesday's burglary of a taxi company.
Ishmael Lott, 17, and Jeffery Neal Gunter Jr., 17, were both charged through the Scott County prosecutor's office with first-degree burglary, a class B felony, according to Sgt. Jim McMillen, public information officer for the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. Lott and Gunter were given a $5,000 cash or surety bond for the offense.
The burglary of Jay's Taxi at 111 N. Kingshighway was reported around 1:04 a.m. Tuesday. A worker reported hearing a loud noise, which woke him up, McMillen said.
The worker had noticed someone had pushed the wall air conditioner unit into the company's office. A juvenile at the scene who fought with the worker was later apprehended and detained by the Mississippi County Juvenile Detention Center.
McMillen said the two teens could be linked with prior burglaries.
