Southeast Missouri State University regents Doyle Privett and Darren Todd will be replaced after their terms expire Jan. 1.

Privett and Todd both were appointed to six-year terms by Gov. Jay Nixon and have been members of the board of regents at the university since April 2009. Privett was elected president of the board in December 2012.

In addition to being a board member, Privett works as chief financial officer at the Kennett National Bank and is a certified public accountant. He previously held a position on the board of regents from 1995 to 2003.

Todd is a partner at the law firm of Welch, Todd and Parker in Malden, Missouri. He also is a city attorney for Holcomb, Missouri, and a city judge for Cardwell, Missouri.

Privett said he and Todd will remain on the board until Nixon appoints two new members after what is typically a two-month process. Once Nixon decides on the replacements, the chosen candidates must be approved and finalized by the Missouri Senate.

The next board of regents members to face replacement are student representative Austin Cordell in 2016 and vice president Kendra Neely-Martin and Thomas M. Meyer in 2018.
