MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Two people from Marble Hill were seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident on Highway 34.
Morris Jones, 56, and his passenger, Pamela Brown, 48, both of Marble Hill, were taken to Saint Francis Medical Center after the 5:14 p.m. accident 8 miles east of Marble Hill.
Another driver, Sarah McGee, 18, of Cape Girardeau was taken to the same hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver of the third vehicle, Derek Baker, 27, of Glenallen, Mo., was not injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when McGee's vehicle crossed the center line, striking Baker's vehicle and then running into Jones' vehicle head-on. McGee was cited for failure to drive on the right half of the road.
In an accident that occurred Monday morning on Interstate 55, one mile south of Scott City, Emily Cook, 25, of Portageville, Mo., received moderate injuries when her vehicle ran off the right side of the road and overturned. She was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center after the 8 a.m. accident.
In an accident that occurred later Monday morning in Jefferson County, Mary Yoffie of Scott City sustained moderate injuries when her vehicle ran off the right side of the road, striking a fence and concrete bridge abutment. The accident occurred at 11:50 a.m. on Sandy Valley Road.
