Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said Thursday two Sikeston, Mo.-area men are in the Scott County Jail on methamphetamine- related charges.
Richard W. Johnson, 27, and Shawn D. Thompson, 36, have both been charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of chemicals with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance, and possession of methamphetamine precursors with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance. Bond is set at $75,000 each.
Walter said his office received a tip Wednesday afternoon regarding possible illegal drug activity in Vanduser. Deputies made contact with Johnson and Thompson and discovered numerous articles commonly used in the manufacturing process of methamphetamine inside their vehicle. Johnson and Thompson were arrested, and the articles were seized.
