POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Two Poplar Bluff residents were killed in a two-vehicle accident at 10:50 p.m. Friday on Highway 67, eight miles north of Silva, the Daily American Republic newspaper reported.

Lloyd D. Freeman, 64, and Michelle L. Lampley, 36, were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, Lampley was driving a southbound 1994 Ford Escort that crossed the centerline of the highway and struck a northbound 1994 Ford Explorer driven by Kyle R. Parks of Qulin head on.

Parks was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff with reported moderate injuries.

All three people were wearing safety devices. The deaths are the 13th and 14th fatalities in Troop E this year.
