Two people injured in weekend shooting

Two people were shot shortly after midnight Saturday near the apartment complex at 608 Boxwood Drive, Cape Girardeau police said.

Both victims were taken to a hospital, and their wounds were treated, Cape Girardeau public information officer Richard McCall said.

Police still were investigating the shooting, and no one was in custody Monday, McCall said.

McCall declined to provide any other information about the victims, including identifying information, whether they had been released from the hospital and where they had been shot.

A neighbor said she heard about 10 shots fired that night.
