Cpl. Blaine Adams of the Missouri State Highway Patrol was recently promoted to sergeant. Adams is the zone commander of Zone 5, which consists of Cape Girardeau County.
Adams is a graduate of Jackson High School and Southeast Missouri State University. He holds a degree in social work, with a minor in psychology and criminal justice.
Adams worked for Probation and Parole from 1984 until he was appointed to the Highway Patrol Academy in 1987. His first assignment was Pemiscot County. He was transferred to Cape Girardeau County in 1990.
Adams is married to the former Linda Groves of Wyatt, Mo., They have two children, Christopher and Montana.
Tpr. Mark Winder was recently promoted to the rank of corporal. He is assistant zone commander of Zone 5.
A Cape Girardeau county native, Winder graduated from Jackson High School. He attended Rend Lake College and Southeast Missouri State University where he graduated with a degree in business administration.
Winder's first assignment with the highway patrol was in St. Charles County in 1993. He was transferred to Cape county in November 1999.
Winder is married to the former Kelly Griffith of Scott City. They have two children, Jacqueline and Blaise. Winder is the son of Jim and Jeanette Winder of Jackson.
