Three men appeared before U.S. District Judge Rodney W. Sippel Monday on methamphetamine charges:

Dunklin County resident David W. Sullivan, 52, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on one felony count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and one felony count of a felon in possession of a firearm. Sullivan also forfeited $1,460 that was seized by officers following his Nov. 28, 2000, arrest.

Sullivan had been caught in a traffic stop with 9.8 grams of pure methamphetamine and a loaded .38 revolver.

Butler County resident Alan W. West, 45, was sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison on one felony count of distribution of methamphetamine and a felony count of attempt to manufacture methamphetamine. He was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.

West was caught Nov. 7 selling drugs to a confidential source. A search of his home the next day revealed numerous items used to make meth.

A Cape Girardeau man pleaded guilty to a felony count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

With his plea, Sean Michael Viox, 34, 3020 Boutin, Lot 61, admitted he and co-defendant Christopher Keller obtained anhydrous ammonia to make meth.

A July 29 search warrant revealed all the necessary items to make meth as well as written instructions for making methamphetamine.

Viox faces a possible maximum of 40 years in prison and a $4 million fine.

Sentencing is set for March 4.
