Two Cape Girardeau men were in custody Wednesday on felony charges related to a Nov. 12 shooting in the 900 block of Bloomfield Street.

Lance Lewis, 27, and Trevon Starnes, 20, face charges of first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and armed criminal action, online court records show.

Lewis, who was arrested Sunday evening, was in the Cape Girardeau County Jail in lieu of $200,000 cash or surety bond, while Starnes, who was arrested Monday afternoon, was in the jail with bond set at $250,000 cash, online court records show.

The men are accused of shooting a young man in the abdomen at an unoccupied house on Bloomfield Street.

Darin Hickey, public information officer for the Cape Girardeau Police Department, said the victim, who was familiar with the suspects, told investigators he met someone at the house, and they walked inside, where the shooting took place.

The suspects took personal items from the victim after shooting him, Hickey said.

The case remains under investigation, but police do not expect to make any more arrests related to the shooting itself, Hickey said.

"We believe we have all parties in custody involved with that shooting," he said.
