BENTON, Mo. -- Two men are in the Scott County Jail and another is in a Cape Girardeau hospital following a shooting around 2 a.m. Friday near Sikeston, Mo., according to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
The victim was shot in the upper arm and chest.
Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said he's withholding the names of the victim and suspected shooters until warrants are issued in the case. Walter said in the news release that the shooting happened after an argument between two cousins on Sandywood Street, just north of Sikeston, where the two cousins are neighbors.
The gun that fired the first shot was a sawed off .22 caliber rifle. The second shooter returned fire, putting nine bullet holes in the first shooter's house. The suspects were arrested at the scene.
