Two men who allegedly committed recent bank robberies will go to trial later this winter in federal court in Cape Girardeau.
Marquel Rhines, 19, of Mounds, Ill., and Keiran Pippins, 18, of Forest Park, Ga., are in a St. Louis jail.
Both men waived pretrial motions in court Wednesday. They will go before a jury Feb. 16.
They were arrested Nov. 23 after they allegedly robbed the First State Community Bank in Cape. Pippins was indicted the next day in federal court on two felony counts of bank robbery and Rhines on one count of bank robbery.
Pippins is also charged in connection with the Capaha Bank robbery Nov. 19 on North Kingshighway. Nobody was injured in either incident, and the stolen cash was fully recovered.
