Harold H. Hester, 52, of Malden died Friday night in a Stoddard County crash.

The patrol said Hester, a volunteer fireman responding to a fire, died when his pickup truck left ice-covered Missouri 25 two miles south of Bernie, overturning and striking a utility pole.
