DELTA -- Two Southeast Missouri people were injured, one seriously, in two separate motor vehicle accidents Sunday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a pickup truck driven by Christopher Blackstone, 20, of Advance ran off Route N, four miles west of Delta, and overturned, throwing the driver out of the vehicle. The accident occurred at 6:45 a.m.

Blackstone was taken to the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with serious injuries.

Another Advance resident, David Adams, 22, received minor injuries when the vehicle he was operating was involved in an accident in Oran with a pickup truck driven by Johnny Ladd, 19, of Bell City.

The highway patrol said Ladd was attempting to make a left turn off Route W in Oran when Adams attempted to pass him. The Adams' vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned. The accident occurred at 1:05 a.m. Sunday.
