A Chaffee, Mo., man and Cape Girardeau woman were both injured in one-vehicle accidents over the weekend, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Earl Obermann, 51, was eastbound in a 1997 Mercury one mile west of Chaffee on Saturday when he ran off the roadway down an embankment and came to a stop in a water-filled creek, the patrol said. He was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center.
Amy Chambers, 20, was southbound in a 1986 Honda on Route B, four miles south of Scopus, Mo., in Bollinger County on Sunday when she ran off the road in a curve and struck a fence, the patrol said.
She was issued a citation for failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital.
