The accident involved a 1996 Ford, driven by Kenneth M. McKinney, 59, of Holly Springs, Miss.

The car was traveling northbound on the Interstate when it swerved off the road and struck an embankment about a mile north of Jackson, around 11 a.m. Sunday.

Two occupants of the vehicle, Gertrude McKinney, 50, and Barber Latham, 10, both of Holly Springs, were injured in the accident and transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center.
