Two motorists were injured in separate accidents Saturday in Alexander County, Ill. and taken by Air Evac helicopter to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Katherine E. George, 34, of Anna was reported in stable condition. Todd M. Bennett, 20, of Tamms Route 1 was in the intensive care unit Saturday night.
The Illinois State Police said George lost control of her pickup truck at 2:25 a.m. at the city park in Tamms. The vehicle crashed through a fence, destroyed a picnic table and hit a tree.
George was cited for driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked license, illegal transportation of alchol, and not wearing a seat belt.
The second accident occurred at 12:55 p.m. on Beech Grove Church Road, two miles east of Route 127 near Mill Creek.
State police said Bennett lost control of his westbound vehicle after making a turn. He was ejected from the vehicle.
