Two people were injured in accidents in the area Friday.
A Scott City woman suffered minor injuries Friday afternoon in an accident near Cape Girardeau.
Lisa Nager, 26, was transported to St. Francis Medical Center after the accident, which occurred on Route W about a half-mile north of Cape Girardeau.
The accident occurred when Nager failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Raymond Underwood, 47, of Ridge, Mo., the Missouri Highway Patrol said. Underwood was not injured.
The accident occurred about 4:10 p.m., the patrol said.
In Alexander County, Ill., a Texas man was injured while trying to pass another vehicle on I-57 near Cairo early Friday morning.
Monarrez R. Morales, 46, of Dallas, Texas, suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Southeast Baptist Hospital.
Morales was injured when he attempted to pass a truck pulling a U-Haul trailer driven by Eric Brown, 27, of Hazelhurst, Miss. Morales' vehicle clipped the trailer, overturned and came to rest in the passing lane.
Neither Brown nor his passenger, Jamila K. Alexander, 19, of Jackson, Miss., were injured.
The accident occurred at 5 a.m. at mile marker 4 on I-57 southbound, said Illinois State Police.
