SCOPUS, Mo. -- Two Marble Hill residents were seriously injured in an accident Monday afternoon near Scopus.

Jerry Green, 46, and Christopher L. Green, 12, were seriously injured in the accident, which happened at 3:35 p.m. Monday on Bollinger County Route B south of Scopus. They were taken by ambulance to Southeast Missouri Hospital.

The accident happened when a vehicle driven by Robert James, 16, of Marble Hill, Mo., pulled into the path of Jerry Green's vehicle, struck it and caused it to run off the side of the road, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Also injured in the accident were Kayla Green, 8, and Chelsey Green, 10. Both were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
