Two people suffered moderate injuries Thursday in separate single-vehicle accidents in the region.

Derek Hale, 18, of Cape Girardeau was taken to St. Francis Medical Center after an accident five miles west of Marble Hill. It occurred at 8:15 p.m. on Highway 34.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Hale's vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway. When the driver overcorrected, the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned.

In the other accident, 33-year-old Charles Vernon of Sikeston was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston after his vehicle ran off Highway 61 two miles north of New Madrid. The accident occurred at 9:25 p.m.
