BENTON -- Two Scott County men suffered injuries when their vehicles collided on Route 61 two miles north of Benton early Saturday morning.
Eric Berghoff, 22, of Kelso, driver of a northbound car, and Johnny Broyles, 24, of Benton, suffered serious injuries. Both were taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where Berghoff was reported in serious but stable condition late Saturday. Broyles was reported in satisfactory condition.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the Broyles vehicle, traveling south, veered into the northbound lane. The accident occurred about 1 a.m. Saturday.
In a Cape Girardeau County accident, about 4 p.m. Saturday, Daniel Glastetter, 47, of Dutchtown suffered injuries in a one-vehicle accident.
Glastetter, driver of a pickup truck, apparently lost control of his vehicle, the Missouri Highway Patrol said. The truck ran off the road, struck an embankment and overturned.
Authorities said Glastetter, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. He remained in St. Francis Medical Center, where his condition was reported as critical but stable.
