CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Two men were hospitalized with gunshot wounds after an incident in Charleston late Monday morning.
City police responding to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Vine and Lee streets about 10:30 a.m. found Eric Dowell, 31, and Dwight Robinson, 56, both suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. Both were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police said the investigation led police to determine that the shooter was firing at Dowell and that Robinson was struck by a stray bullet. The incident appears to be related to similar incidents of reported gunshots that have occurred lately, police said.
No arrests had been made Monday and police said Dowell was not cooperating with the investigation.
