Two from Bollinger County injured in separate crashes

Two Bollinger County drivers suffered moderate injuries in separate one-vehicle crashes early Sunday morning, including one who later was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The first incident happened about 12:25 a.m., as Zachary J. Fields, 19, of Glenallen, Mo., was driving his 2001 Ford F-150 westbound on Highway 34 about two miles east of Marble Hill, Mo. According to the patrol's online crash reports, the accident happened when Fields' truck ran off the roadway, overturned and caught fire. Fields was wearing his seat belt.

At about 1:45 a.m., 30-year-old Dawn L. Mayberry of Grassy, Mo., was driving her 2009 Ford Fusion northbound on Route H about seven miles north of Zalma, Mo., when her vehicle ran off the roadway and into a large ditch, the patrol said. Mayberry was released to the hospital for treatment; she faces charges for DWI, failing to drive on the right half of the roadway and for not wearing a seat belt.

Both vehicles were totaled, according to the patrol's Sgt. B.L. Adams, who investigated both incidents.
