The residence was being heated by a generator in the garage, which was closed up, and the carbon monoxide levels in the home were extremely high, Stevens said.

No foul play is suspected, and the deaths mark the first ones in New Madrid County due to carbon monoxide since last week's ice storm left thousands without power.
