KENNETT, Mo. -- Two children were killed, two individuals suffered serious injuries, and four more people suffered minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash at Highway 153 and Route M near Kennett on Friday morning, according to Kennett Fire Department personnel.

KENNETT, Mo. -- Two children were killed, two individuals suffered serious injuries, and four more people suffered minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash at Highway 153 and Route M near Kennett on Friday morning.

According to trooper B.W. Emerson, a 2011 Nissan Sentra driven by Jamie Vires, 28, of Portageville, Mo., was traveling westbound on Highway 153 when she pulled into the path of a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by Brandi Palmer, 37, of Rector, Ark.

According to Emerson, two passengers in the Sentra, Brittlyn Scott, 9, and Brooklyn Scott, 6, both of Portageville, were killed as a result of the accident. Vires and a 1-year-old girl were seriously injured.

Palmer and her three passengers -- Logan Hollis, 16, of Kennett, Brandon Palmer, 8, of Rector, and Michael Palmer, 10, of Rector -- suffered minor injuries.

Emerson said all except Vires were wearing their seat belt or safety device.
