SIKESTON, Mo. -- A traffic accident in December led two brothers to kidnap and threaten to kill another man this week, Sikeston police said.

Tyrone Sheron, 25, and Michael Sheron, 27, were charged with felonies of kidnapping and armed criminal action after allegedly abducting an acquaintance Tuesday.

A third man involved in the kidnapping has not been charged.

In a probable cause affidavit, police detective Flint Dees described the event.

The victim said he was picked up at his home by the three Tuesday afternoon. Since the victim considered the three friends, he went along for a ride.

Tyrone Sheron, seated in the rear with the victim, began asking him about an accident they had been involved in Dec. 28. He said he was afraid of what the victim would tell police because Tyrone Sheron had been driving and left the scene before police arrived.

Tyrone Sheron explained that killing him would solve his problems associated with the car wreck, and that they planned to bind him with duct tape, take him outside the city and shoot him.

Michael Sheron left the car to make a phone call, and came back angry because he could not reach the third man's girlfriend so he could borrow her car to take the victim into rural Scott County.

"We're going to do it right now," Michael Sheron said.

The victim struggled and was able to break away. He said he was saved because several police cars were cruising in the area.

Tyrone Sheron was arrested, and later released after posting a $75,000 bond. Police are still seeking Michael Sheron.
