Two students from Cape Girardeau Central High School awarded the national "I Dare You Leadership Award."
Travis Austin and Elizabeth Otto received the award, designed to recognize leadership potential.
The award was first offered in 1941 by William H. Danforth, founder of the Ralston Purina Company in St. Louis. The award takes its name from his book, "I Dare You."
The students receive a copy of the book and an opportunity to attend the American Youth Foundation's National Leadership Conference.
Over 8,000 schools and 4-H programs participate in the award program each year.
