CAPE GIRARDEAU - Two Cape Girardeau men were arrested Monday after being indicted by a Cape Girardeau County grand jury on drug charges, Cape Girardeau Police reported Tuesday.
Also indicted on a drug charge was a Charleston man who was already in custody at the Mississippi County Jail in Charleston on an unrelated charge, police said.
Police said John H. Carter, 63, of 1453 Rand, and Stephen D. Flye, 18, of 934 William, were arrested. Flye is charged with one count of delivery of cocaine and Carter is charged with two counts of delivery of marijuana, police said.
Flye's bond was set at $3,000 and Carter's bond was set at $5,000.
Morley Swingle, the prosecuting attorney in Cape Girardeau County, said the grand jury indicted Flye and Carter on the charges Jan. 23.
Swingle declined to specify the amount of drugs involved, but he said Flye had allegedly delivered the cocaine in Cape Girardeau on May 15. Carter is accused of delivering the marijuana in Cape Girardeau on April 8 and April 25, he said.
The Charleston man, Danny R. Hart, 29, is charged with one count of delivery of cocaine, said police. His bond was set at $3,000.
Swingle said Hart was indicted Jan. 23 also. He is also accused of delivering cocaine on May 15.
The arrests resulted from work by the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force, police said.
