Two Cape Girardeau men face weapons charges after a car and building were struck by bullets Wednesday night on Sheridan Drive.
Christopher M. Johnston, 25, and Terrelle D. Hobbs, 20, were both arrested Thursday by Cape Girardeau Police and charged with unlawful use of a weapon and being felons in possession of firearms. Hobbs was previously convicted of possession of a controlled substance and Johnston was previously convicted of receiving stolen property, according to police reports.
Police were called to 409 Sheridan Drive, Building 5, Apt. C about 8:10 p.m. Wednesday to investigate a report of shots fired. A single hole in the roof of a white Buick and a hole in the door frame of the apartment were observed by officers at the scene, according to reports. Two places on the brick of the building were also chipped, police said. Bullets were recovered from the door frame and vehicle, which were similar to the ammunition found in a Glock pistol later recovered from Johnston, police said.
The woman living in the apartment told police she and Hobbs got into a fight a couple of days ago. She said Hobbs was aiming for her front window where her two children were sitting, according to police reports.
Both men are in custody with bond set at $60,000 each.
