Two Cape Girardeau dancers will continue a tradition for the Academy of Dancearts when they perform with the State Ballet of Missouri in the Nutcracker at the Fox Theater in St. Louis.
Whitney Pingel, 9, will dance the part of a party guest. Christina Veneziano, 11, will dance the part of a toy soldier.
Their performance marks the eighth year a student from the Cape Girardeau dance studio has earned a part in the Nutcracker.
The children will learn their roles in evening and weekend rehearsals held every day at St. Louis' Center of Contemporary Arts beginning Saturday.
The show will be performed Dec. 14-18.
