Two arrested on meth charges during traffic stop

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Two Bourbon, Mo., men, Jerry W. Robison, 51, and Christopher P. Decker, 24, face multiple methamphetamine-related charges after a traffic stop in Perry County.

Deputy Brandon Baker, was patrolling Highway 51 Tuesday at about 1:39 a.m. when he saw Robison drive a Ford F-150 pickup truck across the shoulder line of the road. The truck also had no license plate light. Baker submitted the following account in a written report:

When stopped, the men told Baker they were going to Illinois. While inside his patrol vehicle, Baker saw a white cloud underneath the pickup. He then arrested Robison. Deputy Jason Klaus saw a blue, white powder on the passenger side and running board and three plastic bags on the ground. When Decker got out, the powder was on his clothing and he was arrested. The powder field tested positive as ephedrine.

Inside the truck, deputies found two more plastic bags of powder, two boxes of pseudoephedrine, a bag of ephedrine tablets and a duffel bag containing a small bag with syringes, lithium batteries and a plastic container with more ephedrine tablets.In the truck bed officers found items used to cook meth and gather its ingredients, including a 50-pound propane tank, a 20-pound tank, pipe fittings, pipe wrenches, tools, Duct tape, plastic hoses, two cans of starter fluid and several glass jars.

Robison and Decker were charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine precursory drugs with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, attempting to manufacture a controlled substance. Robison also faces charges of driving while revoked and driving in a careless and imprudent manner.
