Jackson police arrested an Illinois man and a Cape Girardeau man Friday after residents of a home in the 800 block of Birdie Lane reported a burglary.
Officers found the house ransacked when they arrived. The homeowners reported four firearms, televisions, jewelry, a computer and other electronics missing.
Derek D. Renshaw Jr., 20, of Thebes, Ill., and Brandon L. Janssen, 22, were allegedly in possession of the stolen items. They're both charged with felony stealing, felony burglary and misdemeanor property damage. Janssen was also charged as a felon in possession of a firearm.
Assisting in the investigation was the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force, the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department, Cape Girardeau police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The stolen property was returned to the victims.
