SIKESTON, Mo. -- Sikeston police arrested two Tennessee residents in connection with prescription fraud last week.
Charges were filed Jan. 29, against Byron Walker, 34, and Akilah Woods, 25, both of Memphis, Tenn., following a police pursuit the day before in which Walker fled the scene, according to a news release from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

Walker fled in his vehicle, but was later apprehended and searched. Officers found six prescription drugs filled with forged prescriptions in Walker's possession and arrested both Walker and Woods, according to the news release.
Both suspects have been charged with two counts of forgery, two counts of controlled substances and fraudulently attempting to obtain a controlled substance.
They each received a $25,000 bond for the offenses.
Walker has since posted bond, according to the news release. Woods remains in custody at the Scott County Jail.
