Two Southeast Missouri well drillers are among 51 contractors the Missouri Department of Natural Resources says are no longer carrying permits to perform work in the state.

Dennis Bey of Perryville, Mo., and Douglas Miles of Marble Hill, Mo., previously held a permit with the department to operate in Missouri as contractors for water well, pump, heat pump or monitoring well installations.

Reasons these individuals may no longer hold a permit could include failure to apply for a renewal, a change in occupation or job duties, retirement or enforcement actions taken against contractors who violated the Water Well Driller's Act, which took effect in 1986.
