Two Cape Girardeau County people were injured in separate accidents, according to reports from the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Joe Heflin, 56, of Cape Girardeau was injured when his vehicle struck a dump truck from behind.
Heflin was driving westbound on U.S. 60 in Stoddard County, two miles east of Dexter. Liman Jines, 66, of Dexter, was driving the dump truck but was not injured. The accident occurred at 10:55 a.m.
Heflin was taken by ambulance to Dexter Memorial Hospital.
An Oak Ridge teen-ager was injured Sunday evening when her vehicle ran off the road and struck an embankment before overturning.
Ashley Clingingsmith, 19, of Oak Ridge was injured after being thrown from the car. She was taken by private vehicle to Southeast Missouri Hospital.
The accident happened at 6:35 p.m. two miles north of Fruitland on U.S. 61.
Clingingsmith had driven her vehicle off the right side of the road, overcorrected and then ran off the left side of the road before hitting the embankment, the patrol said.
