TWO ARE KILLED IN COLLISION ON BRIDGE NEAR MALDEN SATURDAY

MALDEN -- Two people were killed Saturday when the cars they were driving collided on a bridge east of Malden.

The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the victims as Lana Jackson, 19, of Parma and Gary Smith, 45, of Malden.

The accident occurred along County Road 62, one mile east of Malden, at approximately 2:40 a.m. Saturday, the patrol said.

There were no passengers in the two cars, the patrol said. The accident occurred as the two cars met on a bridge. Smith's car apparently crossed the center line and struck Jackson's car in the left front, the patrol said.
