SIKESTON -- A two-car accident Saturday near Sikeston resulted in injuries to two people.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said William Rowe, 16, of Sikeston, was traveling west on Highway 16 when he failed to yield and struck a car traveling north, driven by James Schaffer, 53, of Sikeston.

Rowe and Schaffer received moderate injuries, the patrol said, and were taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center. A hospital spokesman said both were treated and released.

The accident occurred at 12:15 p.m., at the junction of Highway 61 and Country Road HH, three miles north of Sikeston, the patrol said.

Rowe was summoned for failure to yield and for having no valid driver's license, the patrol said.
