Three people were injured in two separate accidents Friday morning in which vehicles overturned.
William Walker, 61, of Advance was in serious but stable condition Friday night at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Walker was flown by helicopter to the hospital following the accident, which occurred at 11:15 a.m. in Wayne County.
Walker was injured while driving a pickup truck that was pulling an empty horse trailer west on Route P in McGee.
The vehicle ran off the road, struck a ditch embankment and overturned, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.
Earlier in the day, at 9 a.m, two Chesterfield residents were injured in a one-car accident on Interstate 55, a mile south of Benton.
The driver, Aaron Walker, 19, and a passenger, Michael Clark, 18, were treated and released at St. Francis Medical Center.
The accident occurred after Walker fell asleep at the wheel, the patrol said. The northbound car crossed the centerline and ran into the median.
The driver then over corrected and the car overturned four times before coming to rest on the side of the road. Both occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident, the patrol said.
