A team of amateur sleuths, including her parents, doctor, babysitter and a health department investigator, unraveled the mystery of how Katie, then 14-months-old, contracted the disease.

Katie, who is now a healthy 4-year-old, is the daughter of Jay and Kathy Wolz of Cape Girardeau.
