Elaine Ganick, a nationally known broadcast journalist, will be keynote speaker March 16 at the second annual community Women's History month program. She will speak at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Post 153 on Highway PP. Admission will be free.
As a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight from 1981 to 1987, she developed a reputation within the broadcast industry as a knowledgeable and trusted journalist who has the ability to get the most out of an interview, said Amelia Taylor, Federal Women's Program Manager at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center.
During the three years she was vice president for Artist Development for the Woody Bowles Co., Ganick was instrumental in the development of the careers of Moe Bandy, Kix Brooks, Baillie and The Boys and The Judds.
In 1990, she formed Ganick Communications specializing in video productions.
